Elektrometal Plus – Supporting the Development of the Energy Sector at the 36th International CIGRE Conference

Elektrometal Plus, a leading company in the electrical industry, proudly supported the 36th International CIGRE Conference on the topic of “Flexibility of the Power System,” held in Zlatibor from May 22nd to May 26th, 2023.

This prestigious event brought together scientific and professional experts, organizations from the fields of science, power utilities, and the electrical industry. Our company was one of the sponsors of this significant event.

One of the key conference topics revolved around the completion of various investment projects, including major projects such as TE Kostolac B3, the construction of wind farms and solar power plants that will be connected to the transmission and distribution system, and the implementation of the Energy Development Strategy of the Republic of Serbia and the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan. These plans will clearly outline development projects and measures to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, which is a crucial goal for 2023. The Republic of Serbia is committed to reducing GHG emissions by 33.3% by 2030 compared to 1990, as well as reducing emissions by 40% by 2030, including LULUCF.

To achieve these goals in Serbia’s power system, it is necessary to increase energy efficiency in all areas and develop cogeneration plants. We will also continue to integrate conventional renewable energy sources and increase the integration of variable renewable energy sources. Flexibility of the power system in all its aspects is a key factor in achieving the stated objectives.

At the Elektrometal Plus booth, our experts had the opportunity to showcase our latest technological innovations and solutions that contribute to the advancement of the power sector. Additionally, we actively participated in knowledge exchange and experience sharing with experts from various fields, engaging in constructive dialogues and attending informative lectures.
